Otopia (“the App”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what data the App handles and why.
1. Data Stored on Your Device
Your recordings, imported music files, practice history, custom chord progressions, and app settings are stored on your device. The developer cannot access or view this practice content. Deleting the App also deletes its locally stored data.
2. Microphone and Music Files
The microphone is used for pitch analysis and recording. Microphone analysis and recording are performed on your device and are not sent to the developer’s server. Audio files you select for Sing with a Track are used only for playback on your device.
3. Advertising
The free version displays ads provided by Google AdMob. For ad delivery, measurement, and fraud prevention, the Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect or process:
- Approximate location inferred from IP address
- Device identifiers and the advertising identifier, when available
- Advertising data and product interaction data
- Crash logs, diagnostics, and performance data
Personalized ads are used only when required regional consent and iOS tracking permission have been granted. You can use the App’s practice tools without granting tracking permission. Premium removes banner ads. See the Google Privacy Policy for details.
4. Feedback and Support Requests
Only when you choose to submit feedback, the App sends your message, optional contact information, app version, device model, and OS version. If you enable Include Usage Data, aggregated feature-use and launch counts are also included.
This information may be processed in a support environment controlled by the developer and by service providers used to receive requests, including Discord. It is used only for support and product improvement, retained only as needed, and deleted when no longer necessary. Recordings and imported music files are never attached to feedback.
5. Purchases
Apple processes all in-app purchases. The App does not receive or store payment card details. Purchase status is used to unlock and restore Premium features.
6. Service Providers and International Processing
The developer does not sell your information. Except where required by law, data is shared only as needed with service providers such as Google and Discord. These providers may process data in countries outside your country of residence.
7. Children’s Privacy
The App is not designed specifically for children. A child should submit contact information only with consent from a parent or guardian.
8. Your Choices and Data Deletion
- On-device data: delete it inside the App or delete the App.
- Advertising choices: change them through iOS settings and applicable regional consent controls.
- Submitted support information: email the address below to request deletion. We may request information needed to verify the request.
9. Changes to This Policy
Changes to this policy will be posted on this page with an updated date.
